I have a problem with this popular motivational phrase...

Here’s the problem with “Feel the Fear and Do it Anyways”

Yes, it’s an inspiring phrase that looks great on a meme, and speaks to the fear that shows up when you are expanding your comfort zone.

Yes, there are times where you will feel scared to do something AND you know that doing it anyway is THE action you need to take in order to grow. To expand.

But here’s the part a lot of people miss…

The fear just wants to be seen and heard.

It has a purpose!

But because fear feels bad, we tend to want to push right through it and triumph on the other side of big action.

We want to IGNORE the fear or WISH it wasn’t there.

But that only creates more resistance and inaction.

Then we judge ourselves for not being able to JUST DO THE DANG THING ALREADY.

Because when we resist the fear, it sticks around.

I help my clients get into a relationship with their fear so that they can understand why it’s showing up and how they can move through it.

THEN they can feel fear and still move forward.

But until you have this piece, you will likely not be able to do the things that really scare you.

Things like setting the boundary to claim the schedule you want, “putting yourself out there” to market your services, leaving the job that you hate, or sending that email to introduce yourself and pitch your signature talk.

Have you been trying to do the things that scare you? Wondering why you haven't been able to? If so, we should chat. I have a whole process to help you every step of the way.
